ROAS calculator
Work out your return on ad spend from what you spent and what it sold.
ROAS
–
- ROAS as a percentage
- –
- Ad cost per order
- –
- Spend to reach target
- –
Assumes ROAS holds as you spend more.
How it's calculated
ROAS = revenue ÷ ad spend
Example
- $3,000 of ads brought in $12,000 across 150 orders.
- ROAS is 12,000 ÷ 3,000 = 4, also written 4x or 400%.
- Each order cost 3,000 ÷ 150 = $20 in ads.

Questions
-
What is a good ROAS?
It depends on your margins. You need a ROAS above your break-even ROAS to make money on ad-driven orders. A store that keeps half of each sale after costs breaks even at 2x. One that keeps a quarter needs 4x.
-
What is the difference between ROAS and ROI?
ROAS compares revenue with ad spend. ROI compares profit with everything you spent, including product costs, shipping and fees. A 3x ROAS can still lose money.
-
Why is my ROAS in Ads Manager higher than this?
Each ad platform counts any sale it touched within its attribution window. If a customer clicked a Meta ad and a Google ad, both may count the same order. Use the revenue your store recorded when you can.
