# TikTok ads

> Pull TikTok ad spend so Soran can calculate ROAS.

Connecting TikTok pulls campaigns, ad groups, ads, and their spend.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If you forward conversions to TikTok with a
> [destination](/docs/integrations/destinations), Soran sends them from its own
> servers only. In that case, keep your TikTok pixel where it is, and set
> TikTok's Shopify channel to **Standard** so Shopify does not send a second
> Events API copy. TikTok pairs your pixel's copy with Soran's only when both
> carry the same event ID.

## How the connection is shaped

The same three steps as Meta, with TikTok's own vocabulary:

**1. Pick the platform**

Choose TikTok on the organization's **Connections** screen.

**2. Provide the credential**

TikTok's credential belongs to a **developer app** that you authorize. There
is no system user equivalent to point you at.

**3. Choose advertiser accounts**

Pick which **advertiser accounts** — TikTok's name for the thing that holds
campaigns and spends money — this property should pull from.

## Sync frequency and history

Choose every hour, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, daily, or weekly.

Backfill reaches up to a year, which is as far back as Soran reads TikTok.

## Note the level names

TikTok's middle level is an **ad group**, where Meta's is an ad set. The reports
use each platform's own term, so the two are not a renaming of one another.

> **[URL tagging](/docs/integrations/url-tagging)**
>
> Tag TikTok ad URLs so clicks join to the exact ad.
